Nearly 700 million of the poorest people in the world lack the one necessity most of us take for granted daily.
Clean water!
This one need creates a myriad of issues:

  • Many of the poorest people of the world pay the most for their drinking water. Water that is often both dirty and unhealthy.
  • Every year a half million people die from drinking-water related diarrhea. That is roughly one person every minute you've spent on this site.
  • Many billions of hours are spent every year hauling water. This is done mostly by women and young girls leading to increases in crime, and loss of education.
  • Every dollar invested in clean water can result in up to eight dollars of time utilization, productivity, and reduced health issues.
